<!--BEGIN main description-->
This surbahar was made for TantraMusicals by an up-and-coming maker in Old Delhi, who only makes a few instruments per month. One of our associates oversaw the construction from the initial stages so that he could ensure that quality and our specifications were met. No outsourcing was done for this surbahar. The body was built and all the finishing was done by the same maker.
This surbahar is a fully decorated model and is full sized (60" long, tabli 17" wide). This is an Ustad Imrat Khan style surbahar, which means no sound hole on the table and no upper tomba. The body stain is a beautifully deep red/brown colour typical of Delhi. The penwork is red and dark blue. The french polish is professionally done. The big karaj string is wound brass for a deep bass. The jawari is half closed and professionally done. The sound is produced is excellent and balanced. The timbre is sweet, bass is excellent and the sustain is incredible. It has to be played to be believed.
