Tabla is not only an accompanying instrument but also used as an instrument for solo performances. Our tablas can be used for any concert setting small or large. The tonal quality of these drums is superb.

A good tabla set has nice and heavy drums. Theses drums are balanced, the skin is mounted properly and the tension is uniform all around in the wadri (rope). These drums can be tuned perfectly.

Often the wood of the right drum is not dried and it splits. Or the weight is not balanced. We check for these defects and avoid getting such drums.

Some drums have a buzz because a small piece is missing from the black (siahi). Such defects even if they are minor, make these drums unplayable in a concert. Our tablas don't have a buzz.

The pura or the top of the tabla is the key to a good tabla. It is an art to make a good tabla head and to mount it properly. The heads for our tablas are made by hand and specially mounted by experts.

We can replace the head if necessary. To change the skin, or any other repairs, there is a turn around time of three days.
