Kharaj Pancham style sitars come in two varieties and follow to great and famous musicians; Pandit Ravi Shankar and Pandit Nikhil Banerjee.

These sitars have thicker guage strings that can be played or muted if so desired. The sitars come with an extra gourd that can be detached also. The gourd is screwed in.

We pay particular attention to the sound of these gorgeous instruments. The jawari of the instrument is kept open so that the beautiful harmonics and subharmonics of each note are audible.

This sitar has a unique sound and tonal quality. It is meant for playing with excessive bending and has a tremendously long sustain.

This sitar comes with a closed jawari as was percieved by Ustad Villayat Khan. There is very minimal work on the sitar and can imitate human voice very nicely.
